What You Need to Know About Appetite Suppressant Products

Thursday, October 8th, 2009

At best, the overuse of an appetite suppressant can deplete your immune system by discouraging proper eating habits. Let’s face it, if you are considering appetite suppressants, you are thrilled when they actually work and are very unlikely to make yourself eat, especially when not hungry, while you are on a diet even though your overall health may be at risk.

Too many of us are just desperate enough to not eat much of anything for the first couple days of any diet, thinking we are jump starting the process of weight control. In truth, we are setting ourselves up to become ill, and possibly cause a chemical imbalance which can affect our metabolism as well as our mental well being.

There are natural appetite suppressants which do not come with the disclaimers and warnings that you will find all over the labels of the suppressants in pill form.

Caffeine is a natural appetite suppressant, and while many pill form suppressants contain extreme amounts of caffeine, a simple cup of green tea with a bowl of high fiber cereal, is a much healthier way to lose weight by the caffeine making you feel full and the fiber cereal aiding in digesting the extra calories already in your system.

Most weight control consultants will recommend eating a pear and drinking a glass of water before every meal. While not categorized as an appetite suppressant, the pear’s density, along with the water, does fill the stomach and is particularly good at promoting weight loss by kicking the metabolism into high gear before a meal. Pears, including the peel, are also high in fiber which, as in the example above, will also aid in digestion and therefore promote weight loss.

Green leafy vegetables such as lettuce, spinach and cabbage are excellent appetite suppressants which also help the dieter lose weight by using more energy, thereby burning more calories, to digest them than the number of calories they actually bring into the body through consumption. The trick to eating these items is to not drown them in salad dressing, shredded cheese and croutons. A little light oil vinaigrette is all it should take to make a salad that will do it’s job of helping you lose weight.

And as always, a little extra exercise will go a long way. Take a walk, instead of a snack. Take the dog, take a friend, do whatever it takes to get yourself moving. Some people love the idea of going to the gym. Others would rather take the stairs every day at work. Whatever works for you is an improvement over doing nothing. And the real point of it all is to be healthier and happier than you were before you began your diet plan to lose weight.

Buy Acai Berry Diet Pills – What You Should Know About Acai Berries Before You Buy

Monday, September 28th, 2009

Acai Berries are the small fruits of the Acai Palms, 8 species of the genus Euterpe which are native to tropical Central and South America. The tree itself is aptly named, Euterpe was the muse of delight in Greek Mythology, and indeed the fruits of the Acai Palms are delightfully healthy.

Acai Berries themselves look like small round grapes, deep purple or green depending on variety, but with lesser pulp. The Acai Berry seed makes up 80% of the fruit. It has long been harvested by the Caboclo populations of the Amazon jungles as a source of food. In fact, Acai Berry comprises an amazing 42% of the food intake by weight of these natives. So what’s so special about it?

Acai Berries have been scientifically proven to contain just the perfect amount of fibers, healthy monosaturated fats, iron and amino acids, the Acai Berry is also the richest source of antioxidants in nature. A particular class of flavonoids called anthocyanins are found in amazing amounts in Acai berries. Up to 10 times that of grapes and twice that of blueberries.

In case you did not know, antioxidants are molecules that help prevent free radicals. Free radicals are molecules that come from natural processes of the body, pollutants, pesticides, cigarette smoke etc. They damage the cells and can cause chain reactions that can lead to diseases and even damage to the DNA that can lead to cancers. Aside from fighting free radicals, antioxidants also strengthens the immune system and leads to a drastic increase in energy levels and stamina.

The Acai Berry also has essential fatty acids (Omega 3, 6, and 9) that help fight bad cholesterol while at the same time maintaining good cholesterol. Thereby, helping prevent heart disease.

Not only that, Acai berries have just the right amount of nutrients that can significantly help fight obesity. Antioxidants, amino acids, essential fatty acids, and phytosterols work together to make your body function more efficiently. Aiding in digestion and burning fat better. Having a well-balanced body makes it much easier for you to reach your weight goals.

And the best thing about the Acai Berry? Unlike other common health food like wheatgrass, Acai berries actually taste good. It has a distinct flavor that has been described as a mix between berries and chocolate. The only downside is that the Acai berries spoil very quickly after harvest, so they are not readily available in fresh form unless you live somewhere in Latin America. Fortunately, they are now quite readily available in other forms. The most common being the bottled Acai juice or Acai Berry pills as health supplements.

How To Find Your Heart Rate And Know Your Rate For Fat Loss?

Monday, September 21st, 2009

During cardio activities, like karate, I’m told to have your heart rate at a certain percentage. What percentage is right for fat loss during cardio activities?
How do I figure out my max. heart rate?
How do you figure out your heart rate without a heart rate monitor (like the belt or watch thingys). I think you count the times your heart beats for 6 seconds and multiply it by 10.
Thanks to anyone who can help.
