Do Diet Pills Still Use Methamphetamine As The Active Ingredient?

From my understanding, diet pills used to contain speed (methamphetamine) to help people lose weight. Do they still do it or is it illegal now? If so, what is the “active ingredient” used in them now instead?

This is illegal, because methamphetamine – the drug can cause a severe addictive. If you want to use a pill – look for 100% natural.

Back then it was some kind of generic speed…amphetamine..not methamphetamine.
    Doctors prescribed pretty freely.
For weight loss or fatigue etc.
My friends mom had them in medicine cabinet.
He and I would take one before heading into New York City.
    Way way back in 1969
    It was probably Dexedrine….
    from link:
in 1935, the medical community became aware of the stimulant properties of amphetamine, specifically dextroamphetamine, and in 1937 Smith, Kline, and French introduced tablets, under the tradename Dexedrine. In the United States, Dexedrine tablets were approved to treat narcolepsy, attention disorders, depression, and obesity. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dexedrine
