Thanks for this critique. I read Gary’s book and also had issues with his position on calories and exercise. If anything, I find exercise normalises my appetite. I could never maintain my healthy weight by eating with no regard to calories. As well, people today have lost the ability to recognize true hunger and when to stop eating. Animals don’t need books to tell them how, what or how much to eat. They also don’t eat by the clock. It is instinctive.

PLEEEZ! Let’s talk science. Why do we gain weight? We gain weight because our fat tissue accumulates too much fat. What regulates fat tissue is the hormone insulin. We secrete insulin in response to the carbohydrates we take into our bodies — there is no other reason to secrete insulin! It is so simple that I believe even Dr. Ellis can understand it — he may not want to agree with it but he does understand it.
    Ask any diabetic on insulin.
